What I also ment to say about the cell is that the director took inspiration from loads of places - paintings etc and incorporated them into the film (some might call it stealing)
Was advised to find a certain nine inch nails video, so I spent a fair amount of time today looking at music videos. They are all pretty dark and introspective (and gross) The most important one is called 'into the void' The are many exteme close ups of his eyes or skin whichI like. Not being able to see the whole picture but getting a feeling of what it is or what's going on. (www.nin.com/visuals)
Also watched 'the man who wasn't there', again, a lot of close ups, looking over peoples shoulders , reflections in mirrors ect. Brilliant use of light and shadows, especially with the smoke from the cigarette. Pretty slow and calm.
Have been doing story boards, looking at the small child scenario. Still not being able to find much of a 'story'. But have some shots that will look good and put across the right feeling (I hope).
This is the video for Mark Lanegan 'hit the city' It again has a lot of close ups (You'll need real player though) Any excuse to mention Mark Lanegan really. Indeed check it out. http://www.cissme.com/beggars/rm/beggars/lanem/video/bbq381cd-01_rvs.ram
