The event started at 2pm which is strange for an opening, usually they are evening things. "A light buffet lunch" was provided, which again was a bit odd, as there were loads of elderlies who seemingly just came in to have their lunch. The free wine was mank but I suppose that isn't the point. We were one of the first to arrive and there didn't seem to be many staff about for a change, so we just started wandering about, 5 minutes later it was packed with people carrying glasses and milling about being sophisticated. The work was hella dull. A bit chocolate boxy. Though the sides of the canvas were sort of interesting, were you could see where all the paint etc had run down when the work was being created on the floor. People kept cornering the artist and giving her flowers(?).
There was a video in the foyer of an interview with the artist, though through the headphones it was far too quiet, so that was a bit silly, I tried to turn the volume up but ended up playing with the screen contrast. Oh well.
There were two little boys running about, the younger of which was eventually put into baby reins, the older seemed to enjoy having his hands down the back of his trousers much to his dads frustration.

There was an hour until the train so we had a glass of £3.05 fosters from the crappy forest heath hotel. Slightly less than reasonable.
